Opening Ceremony

Hey a really quick one today, as we are just about to go to the Opening Ceromony. The flame came through our camp today. The hysteria that followed was insane lol.
I was playing my guitar out on the grass today and I got about 5 photos with random chinese people. My new Irish friend Noel is very nice, we get on really well.
I managed to figure out a way of getting all my photos off the SD card, so maybe tomorrow morning I will upload all of the ones so far to my picasa.

Hey guys, today we visited the forbidden city.
It was an amazing place, and to think that it was built in something like the 1400's is mind-boggling. To have seen it in its heyday, would have been even more impressive than today, which would be hard to top.
Apparently Helen Clark was in the city when we were there. This wasn't necessarily a good thing however, as our tour group had to sit around for about 30mins waiting to get into a section.
It was awesome though.
OH YEAH!!!!!!: I SAW THE SUN TODAY!!!!! It's actually a semi-rare occurance, as it is the first time since i've been in beijing that iv seen it.

Hey guys, today we are going to the opera house and then in the afternoon tiennaman square. I got a new roommate yesterday; he is from Oman and seems quite nice, if a little distant.
Yesterday i was chosen as 1 of 5 to raise the OYC flag at the opening ceremony. This meant that i got to stand next to a really big flag holding my arm up for about 15 minutes straight, as the Chinese media took photos and videos of me looking patriotic looking up at the flag. How one can look patriotic for a flag that isn't their own....i don't know.
